Surrounded by National Forest
Mammoth Lakes, just east of Yosemite National Park, is surrounded by National Forest. This picturesque town provides visitor's access to the Inyo National Forest. The Sierra National Forest is just to the west.
Both offer ample opportunities for recreation and adventure. Hiking, mountain biking, fishing and camping can all be enjoyed in the midst of this spectacular scenery.
The Mammoth Lakes Recreation Area encompasses 200,000 acres of terrain and includes part of the Pacific Crest Trail, the John Muir Trail, Devils Postpile National Monument, Rainbow Falls, Mammoth City Historical Site and Mammoth Lakes Basin and geothermal springs.
This extensive wilderness contains countless trails, which network through pine forests and past alpine lakes. Hiking, fishing and boating are all within reach.
