Mount Shasta
California
In the Foothills of the Cascades
Mount Shasta is a small city nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, just off of Interstate 5 in Northern California.
Known as the gateway to the Whiskey-town Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area, Mount Shasta and the surrounding region offer an abundance of recreational opportunities.
Mt. Shasta State Fish Hatchery produces five to 10 million trout a year and stocks Northern California's lakes and streams, making for some great fishing.
The Sisson Hatchery Museum contains exhibits about the region's geological and human history. And, Shasta Lake and Lake Shasta Caverns are only about 40 miles to the South.
