Visit the Eastern Sierra Mountains' Most Popular Attractions
June Lake, in eastern California, provides visitors access to many of the Eastern Sierra Mountains' most popular attractions. Yosemite National Park, Devils Postpile National Monument, Tioga Pass, Bodie State Historical Park, Mono Lake Tufa State Reserve and Tuolumne Meadows are all within reach.
The June Lake Loop, called "Horseshoe Canyon" by pioneers, offers a variety of activities. Numerous trails for hiking and horseback riding can be found here along with ample opportunities for camping and bicycling.
The area's crystal clear waters teem with some of the best fishing in the West. Five marinas and a myriad of wild and stocked trout await fishing enthusiasts of all skill levels.
June and Grant lakes have plenty of sunshine and sandy beaches. This makes for just the right combination. Swimming, sailing and sail boarding are all available in this water-lovers paradise. For those out for more adventure, power boating and water-skiing can be found as well at Grant Lake.
The summer weather brings many events to the area, including Frontier Days, Art Show and Ernie's Monster Trout Contest.
