Charm...

Vail is relatively new compared to many Colorado towns. Founded in 1962, it is conveniently located off Interstate 70, just 90 miles west of Denver. Vail's newness does not mean it lacks charm, and there is a wide variety of recreational activities in the area.

Recreation

Experience fishing along the banks of pristine lakes and rivers that are easily reachable, yet serene. Casting a line into these crystal clear waters is an adventure that won't soon be forgotten. Rafting and float trips offer visitors a unique experience, as will taking to the skies in a hot air balloon.

But for those who want to stay on land, trails for hiking, biking, llama trekking, horseback riding and four-wheeling are abundant in the area. Guided tours are available.

Golfers of all abilities will find Vail the perfect place to play and relax. A game on one of the world-class golf courses in the area will challenge and delight.

Dining and Culture

Pedestrian walkways provide a relaxed environment to peruse the many unique shops and galleries. Dining choices run the full gamut from elegant to casual. Choose from gourmet cuisine in a classic setting to appetizers in a colorful outdoor beer garden.

Cultural events in the area highlight the summer season. The Vail International Dance Festival, Beaver Creek Culinary Festival and the Vail Arts Festival are just a sampling of what the area has to offer.

Beaver Creek
Beyond the Beaver Creek slopes is a town of livelihood that offers extensive fun throughout the year. The level of amusement is beyond words, and the villages of Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch, Avon and Edwards do a remarkable job at providing nonstop happenings for all guests.

Beaver Creek's taste for art is impeccable. A countless number of galleries offer artwork that range from contemporary and impressionist paintings to glass art and natural mineral displays. Authentic western designs, jewelry collections, sculptures, bronzes and more make up a variety of art galleries in the towns. Visitors can spend days shopping at the area's fine ski, clothing and gift shops that offer customers a wide range of splendors.

When it comes to nightlife in and around Beaver Creek, there are a plethora of options. If a night of fine arts is on the agenda, the Vilar Center is an ideal spot for a variety of performances. Broadway musicals, rock concerts, jazz ensembles, orchestras, stand-up comedies and more are among the many types of entertainment acts scheduled throughout the year with moderate to luxurious prices. If hitting the nightlife bar and club scene is on the menu, areas for adult fun are scattered around Beaver Creek, Avon and Edwards. Cigar bars, martini clubs, old-fashioned brews and more prove that the towns appeal to all sorts of culture.

Fall Favorites
During the pre season, the smell of bratwursts and the sounds of German song liven the senses during Beaver Creek's annual Oktoberfest. Authentic steins are up for grabs to hold a festive brew, and events such as live cooking shows, Bavarian music and savory food stands are available to all that arrive. Beaver Creek's beauty is truly revealed in the fall as Aspen leaves ignite autumn flames between the pines and slight hints of snowfall spark a hopeful buzz around the village.

Spring Sensations
With warm weather approaching and snow softening, ski conditions meet perfections as beach weather shines above and white fluff stays below. Outdoor activities are at its prime advantage as the season offers beautiful views while snowshoeing at McCoy Park and cross-country skiing in the Rockies. Ice skating at the village's rink is fun for the entire family year-round, and taking a sleigh ride up a mountain with a fine dining experience at the end is a romantic way to spend a spring evening. Guided dog sledding trips across snowy fields is just one among the many unique offers Beaver Creek has for its visitors. Thrilling entertainment continues throughout the resort even after the slopes close in April. As the snow melts and flowers bud, numerous activities in the Beaver Creek towns keep the animated spring sprit alive and astonishing.

Summer Spectaculars
It's a village that never sleeps through any season. View the majestic Colorado Rockies from a hot-air balloon ride, or hike and bike on mountain trails that lead visitors to some of nature's most beautiful secret spots. Beaver Creek summers offer those with a taste for golfing perfect courses with a breathtaking mountain backdrop. The aroma of delicious foods travels around town as barbeques appear all over the village. Be sure to mosey over to the ranch to see cowboys and cowgirls lasso and bull ride at weekly rodeos. Palettes can be perfectly pleased at a weekly culinary demo where Beaver Creek's finest chefs cook spectacular plates for all to indulge and savor.
