Leadville, just 103 miles from Denver, has a rich mining history. Its well-preserved mining district and Victorian architecture give visitors a glimpse of days gone by. Leadville was the richest of the silver mining boomtowns.

Incorporated in 1878, the town boasts a National Historic Landmark District. Most of the buildings lining the main street date back to the 1870s. Leadville is the highest incorporated city in North America and has a wide variety of cultural and recreational activities.
