Weston
Missouri
A Rich History
Weston is located just inside the Missouri border, north of Kansas City. The town, at one time, was right on the Missouri River and a stop over for Lewis and Clark in 1804. After the river changed its course in the early 20th century, the town was left with dry docks.
Weston claims the only tobacco market west of the Mississippi River. The crop is grown locally.
History and architecture buffs will enjoy viewing the more than 100 ante-bellum homes and buildings that are the pride of Weston. The structures resemble the Classic Revival Federal-style homes of early 19th century Virginia and Kentucky.
A variety of recreational activities can be enjoyed in the area, including hiking, horseback riding, boating, tennis, and golf.
