Lincoln
Spectacular Scenery

Lincoln is located in the White Mountain National Forest, just off Interstate 93. The 780,000-acre forest has countless miles of trails (well maybe not countless, but more than 1,200 miles worth) weaving through spectacular scenery. Hikers and mountain bikers alike can enjoy the peaceful splendor on the paths of this enchanted forest.

Endless opportunities for recreational endeavors exist in this area. Visitors can camp, fish, hike, mountain bike, golf and horseback ride.

The Kancamagus Highway, the most scenic route in Mountain Country, runs east from Lincoln to Conway. The route was named a National Scenic Byway in 1989, but was first built in 1837. The dramatic views will leave a lasting impression.

Loon Mountain

Loon Mountain Park doesn't close after the ski season -- It offers summer visitors a number of outdoor activities. Ride the gondola 7,000 feet up the mountain for breathtaking panoramas. Explore hiking trails and glacial caves, or climb to the top of the four-story observation tower.

When you're finished hiking around, take a mountain bike out for a spin, try on some in-line skates or climb up on a well-trained horse and cover some more ground.

If you'd like a completely different method of travel, hop aboard the Hobo Railroad. This historic tour takes visitors along the picturesque Pemi River Valley as the conductor talks about the area's colorful history.

Arts and Entertainment

The North Country Center for the Arts offers summer entertainment in the form of exciting and unique performing and visual art presentations.

Several events light up the warmer months, including the New Hampshire Highland Games, the Pemi Valley Bluegrass Festival and the White Mountain Outdoors Expo.
