A Picturesque Resort Community

The Schroon Lake area is a picturesque resort community just off the Northway (I-87). The main street is dotted with numerous quaint country shops, a variety of restaurants, antique shops, collectibles and churches.

This region is a four-season vacation paradise with its many lakes, ponds, streams, mountains and wilderness. You can canoe, boat, swim, fish, hike, golf, play tennis, picnic or just relax and enjoy the marvelous Adirondack scenery.

Fishing enthusiasts can try their luck at Schroon Lake, Paradox Lake and the Schroon River along with numerous other ponds and streams. Many species of fish inhabit the waters. Fishing for rainbow and lake trout, landlocked salmon, small and large mouth bass, great northern pike, pickerel and other varieties of fish is an experience and challenge you won't soon forget.

Hikers will find an extensive trail network in places like the Pharaoh Wilderness, Hoffman Notch Wilderness and Severance Hill. All trails have spectacular views of the region and many offer a glance to the High Peaks region.

Bikers can enjoy hundreds of miles of backcountry roads. Spring is also a time to enjoy a scenic mountain drive on your own or take a guided tour to enjoy the rebirth of the Adirondacks.
