Forested Ridges Create a Lush Backdrop
Killington and the surrounding area offer a wealth of recreational opportunities. The beauty of these mountains is like no other. Forested ridges rise one after another, creating a wonderfully lush backdrop for whatever you're looking to do. A variety of activities, including hiking, mountain biking, tennis, swimming, canoeing and golf are easily accessible.
Killington All Season Resort offers gondola rides all the way to the top. Take in the breathtaking views and explore the mountains. The gondola carries visitors two-and-a-half miles to the 3,800-foot summit of Skye Peak or whisks you up Killington Peak to its 4,241-foot summit. From this vantage point, an amazing five states and parts of Canada can be seen.
Take to the Trails
Mountain bikers will enjoy the resort as well. Riders can take their bikes up on the gondola and ride down one of the many challenging descents.
There are more than 50 miles of trails covering five peaks. No matter what your ability or desire, there is a route just right for you. Trails range from gentle glides to technical descents.
Hikers will find the same extensive assortment of trails in the area just waiting to be explored, including the historic Appalachian and Long trails.
Golfers can try out their clubs on the emerald green fairways at the 18-hole Green Mountain National Golf Course or the 18-hole championship course designed by Geoffrey Cornish at Killington All Season Resort. All together there are 12 golf courses within a 30-minute drive, offering a variety of topography and scenery.
A host of events await summer visitors. The Music in the Mountains festival, the Beauty and the Beast Mountain Bike Race and the Microbrew Festival are just a few of the entertaining attractions this area has to offer.
